LG Optimus 2X (LG Star)is the latest phone announced by LG. It is the first smartphone running on aDual Core 1 GHz Processor (Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chip). Dual Core processors in smartphones are expected to the next big trend in 2011. LG Optimus 2X is capable of 1080p video recording (via 8MP camera) as well as full 1080p TV-out via HDMI.
It comes with a 4 inch display, 8GB of onboard memory, expandable upto 32 GB via microSD card slot. Optimus 2X runs on Android 2.2 (“Froyo”), and is upgradeable to 2.3 (“Gingerbread”) as per LG.
It will hit the Korean markets in January 2011, following by Europe and other parts of Asia. We are not sure when it will be launched in India. Our guess is that it should be launched in India towards the end of first half if 2011.
