The blackberry Dakota borrows its design from the Bold range of BlackBerry devices but seems supercharged and a lot more feature rich in comparison.

The Dakota is said to be a Quad-band device with Tri-band UMTS, rocking a 5MP camera with HD video, 4GB of internal storage, 768MB of RAM and a 2.8-inch 640 x 480 screen. The device will be able to function as a 3G mobile hotspot, it will feature NFC, a magnetometer, accelerometer, a proximity sensor and will launch with BlackBerry OS 6.1.

It certainly looks like RIM is finally bringing a smartphone that can hold its own against the iPhone and the millions of Android devices, about time too.
